Job Purpose

 To lead and coordinate all company transportation activities, ensuring efficient, safe, and timely delivery of personnel. Optimize routes, manage drivers, and oversee vehicle maintenance to reduce costs and improve performance. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Foster collaboration across departments for seamless transportation operations.

Principal Accountabilities

Master Transportation Plan (Across Departments) 
•    Consolidate transport requests from all departments.
•    Continuously assess road and traffic conditions to refine operational routes and schedules.
Drivers Management and operational coordination:
•    Lead day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of goods and personnel across all company sites.
•    Collaborate with all business units to incorporate transportation needs into operational plans.
•    Maintain and manage driver rosters and schedules to optimize vehicle utilization and minimize fatigue.
•    Implement driver performance evaluation programs based on GPS data, safety compliance, and overall effectiveness.
•    Oversee driver training and certification, ensuring all drivers meet legal and company standards.
•    Manage accident and incident reporting and investigation procedures.
Tracking and reporting:
•    Regularly review GPS tracking reports and coordinate corrective actions for any deficiencies.
•    Maintain comprehensive MIS including operation monitoring files, traffic violation reports, and transportation records.
Fuel Efficiency & Consumption Monitoring
•    Develop, review, and optimize routes for all vehicles to maximize fuel efficiency, reduce operational costs, optimize shared routes, and improve delivery timelines.
•    Monitor fuel consumption metrics and establish benchmarks for vehicles and routes.
Transportation Budget & Cost Monitoring
•    Track costs (fuel, maintenance, violations, spare parts) and work to optimize them. 
Other tasks: 
•    Collaborate with workshop teams to define service intervals based on mileage or engine hours.
•    Prioritize and schedule maintenance based on severity and operational urgency.
•    Aim to reduce downtime through proactive scheduling and Bodyshop coordination and follow up. 
•    Ensure strict adherence to operational guidelines to avoid deviations and improve safety.
•    Conduct regular reviews of SOPs to reinforce safety protocols and best practices among team members.
•    Supervise fleet inspections conducted by drivers to maintain safety and compliance with regulations and ensure vehicles registration on time. 

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma-level degree is required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the transportation field
  • Specialization in Transport Planning & Execution, including reporting
  • Industry, fleet, transportation, and drivers roster business knowledge
  • Vehicle regulatory and roster management knowledge
  • Strong data analysis and data management skills to evaluate fuel efficiency and operational insights
  • Certified Transportation Professional (preferred but not mandatory)
