Job Purpose
Responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to assess their condition, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards to estimate the vehicle cost and estimate the repair costs for any identified issues and provide accurate reports to purchase department to purchase the vehicles.
Principal Accountabilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to assess their condition, including mechanical, electrical, structural, interior, exterior and safety components.
- Perform visual checks, vehicle performance by driving and take photographs of the vehicle conditions to access the vehicle pricing.
- Identify and document any defects, damage, or non-compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Assess the extent of repairs or maintenance required based on inspection findings; Estimate the costs of parts, labor, and additional services needed to address identified issues.
- Collaborate with automotive technicians, mechanics, and other professionals to ensure accurate assessment and estimation of repair costs.
- Provide detailed reports outlining inspection results, repair recommendations, and cost estimates to Purchase department for buying the vehicles.
- Ensure that all inspections and estimates comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, estimates, and repair orders in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in vehicle inspection, automotive diagnostics, or repair estimation.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, structural, safety, and vehicle valuation aspects.
- Ability to conduct inspections, test drives, identify defects, and prepare accurate repair cost estimates.
- Good reporting skills with attention to detail and knowledge of automotive standards and regulations.
- Valid Qatar or GCC driving license is required.
