Electrician

Job Purpose

To install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in compliance with safety standards to ensure a reliable power supply and smooth facility operations.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with electrical codes and safety standards.  
2. Connect wires to electrical components, ensuring proper isolation before work commencement.  
3. Test electrical systems and circuit continuity using approved testing instruments.  
4. Diagnose electrical faults using test equipment and hand tools and carry out corrective repairs.  
5. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and non-compliance, and take corrective action.  
6. Tighten loose connections, repair insulation damage, and replace faulty components while ensuring equipment is de-energized.  
7. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities and maintain accurate logs for maintenance tasks and electrical audits.  
8. Replace and maintain lighting systems in showrooms, offices, and common areas using proper access equipment and PPE.  
9. Attend to electrical and telephone faults, ensuring safe troubleshooting and timely service restoration. 
10. Conduct weekly generator testing following approved safety and operational procedures.  
11. Estimate electrical materials and spare parts in line with maintenance needs and safety specifications.  
12. Use mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow lockout/tagout procedures during electrical work.  

Required Qualifications

• High school/Diploma
• Certificate Course in Electrical Trade from a recognized Govt. institution
• Minimum 3+ years of experience
