Data Governance Specialist

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for helping to maintain the data quality and governance framework that support the organization's operations. Work closely with other IT staff, as well as with other departments within the organization, to ensure that the data is reliable, secure, and efficient. Knowledge in  Data Quality, Master Data Management, Data Privacy and Compliance, Metadata Management, and Change Management. Knowledge of tools such as Alation, Alteryx, Data Lake and Warehouse etc. is a plus. Additionally, they help to identify and resolve any issues that arise with the operational and technology systems.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the evaluation of process effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Analyze and document data quality and governance events. Identifies root causes, prioritizes threats and recommends and/or implements corrective actions. Test and deploy risk mitigation processes and tools. Monitor outcomes and act as required.
• Evaluate and respond to emerging security issues. Evaluate capability risk/gaps and take and/or coordinate actions to meet objectives.
• Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of MDM processes and workflows to enhance data quality and reliability.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of MDM processes and governance initiatives, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Ability to translate IT and technical risks into business risk
• Excellent written and verbal skills to clearly explain concepts in non-technical terms. Ability to convert them to Documents and presentations.
• Understanding of development and implementation of information security, governance and quality framework
• Experience evaluating and documenting complex risk scenarios.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Is detail-orientated, self-motivated and can work independently

• Bachelor in Computer Science
• Years of Experience: 7+ years
